Poharadevi, a major pilgrimage site in Maharashtra, holds deep religious significance for the Banjara community, with thousands visiting during peak festivals. Located 3 km from Umari, another sacred site, the region has seen significant growth in footfall and socio-economic activities in the past decade. During peak festival days the footfall of crowd reaches up to 3 lakhs and above.

This proposal focuses on the master planning and development of temple complexes at Poharadevi and Umari, aiming to accommodate large crowds while preserving spiritual and cultural identity. Each complex is designed with the temple as the focal point, surrounded by open spaces, pathways for vehicular movement, and features like red sandstone fortress walls, marble platforms/parisars, ornate stone entrance gates, and benches. The proposal also includes the beautification and redevelopment of existing Samadhi Mandirs entirely in stone, enriching their spiritual and visual prominence.

Infrastructure for devotees includes accommodation, pavilions, kitchens, and washrooms. The architectural language is rooted in traditional stone construction, using white marble (Rajasthan) and Agra red sandstone, symbolizing purity and devotion in Banjara culture. Design elements feature carved pedestals, columns, capitals, floral motifs, and torans, with CNC-cut red and white marble flooring patterns enhancing the temple aesthetics. While the design stays true to traditional architectural expressions, modern technologies like CNC machine carving are employed to achieve precision and intricate detailing, blending heritage with contemporary craftsmanship.
